Sender verification
Clients.ai does not ask for your email password or SMTP credentials. Instead, you tell it the address you want your agents' emails to come from, and verify that you own it.
Setup steps
1. Enter your sender information
- Sender Name - How you want to appear in the inbox (this is what shows in the "From" field)
- Sender Email - The address you want your agents to send from (e.g.,
you@yourdomain.com) - Mailing address - Required for CAN-SPAM compliance on commercial email
2. Verify your address
- Click to send a verification email
- Open your inbox at that address and click the verification link
- Your sender status updates once it's confirmed
Didn't get the email? You can request another one after a short wait (about a minute) if you don't see it.
Default behavior
Until you verify your own sender address, follow-up emails send from Clients.ai's own address, hi@clients.ai.
Verifying your own address means leads see your name and your domain in their inbox, not Clients.ai's.
Troubleshooting email issues
Verification email doesn't arrive
- Check spam/junk folder
- Double-check you typed the sender email correctly
- Wait about a minute, then use the resend option
Emails go to spam
- Use an address on your own domain rather than a free Gmail/Yahoo address
- Avoid spam trigger words in email content
- Keep your mailing address accurate — missing sender info can hurt deliverability
Email best practices
Subject lines
- Keep under 50 characters
- Avoid spam triggers: "FREE!!!", "Act Now", all caps
- Personalize when possible: "Sarah, next step for your consultation"
- Try different approaches and see what gets opened
Email content
- Short paragraphs (2-3 sentences max)
- Scannable (use bullets, headers, bold)
- One clear CTA per email
- Personalize using merge tags
- Mobile-friendly formatting
Sending schedule
- Tuesday-Thursday generally perform best
- 10am-11am or 2pm-3pm local time
- Avoid Monday mornings and Friday afternoons
- Test different times for your audience
Deliverability
- Verify a sender address on your own domain
- Warm up new sending domains (start with small volume)
- Monitor spam complaints
- Keep lists clean (remove bounces)
- Avoid spam trigger words
Verifying your own sender address helps your Nurture Agent emails land in inboxes, not spam folders.
