Email Integration & SMTP Setup

Connect your email provider to send campaigns from your own domain.

Email Integration

By default, emails are sent through our email service. Connecting your own email provider improves deliverability and lets emails come from your domain.

How to Connect Email:

  1. Go to Settings (profile icon, top right)
  2. Click "Email and Integrations"
  3. Enter your SMTP details or connect Gmail/Outlook
  4. Confirm access via the verification email

Supported Providers:

Gmail (with app password):

  • Enable 2-factor authentication on your Google account
  • Generate an app-specific password
  • Use that password in Clients.ai SMTP settings
  • Note: Gmail has daily sending limits

Outlook:

  • Connect via OAuth or app password
  • Follow on-screen instructions

Professional Email Service:

  • Get API credentials from your email service provider
  • Enter in Clients.ai settings
  • Higher volume capacity than Gmail/Outlook

Custom SMTP:

  • Enter host, port, username, password
  • Common for enterprise email providers and custom mail servers

Test Email Functionality:

After connecting, click "Send Test Email" to verify setup.

Best Practices:

  • Use your own SMTP for better inbox delivery rates
  • Monitor sending quotas on your email provider
  • For high volume (1,000+ emails/day), use a professional email service
